Game Battery Replacement

Discharged Game Battery Replacement

Time kills the charge on a battery, especially in a small cartridge battery. When this happens, game players will lose their save data when a game battery dies. If this has happened to you, send your game to FillhartTech to have your new game battery replacement installed. When you get your game back you’ll be saving games again immediately.

System Platforms Using Batteries

The majority of retro game platforms use a battery to hold the save data for cartridge games. The following platforms use a battery on their cartridges: Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis/Megadrive, Gameboy (Original, Color, Advance), and more.

Cell Battery Information

FillhartTech uses a new cell battery CR2025 or CR1616 to replace the old one on your PCB. These new batteries contain a positive and negative lead coming from the battery that is then soldered to the PCB of your game. The CR2025 cell battery is used in Gameboy and Gameboy Color games while the CR1616 is used in Gameboy Advanced games.

Technical specs of these batteries are:

  • Voltage: 3V
  • Capacity: 150mAh
